PODCAST TRANSCRIPT:
Today on Celebrate the Bible, we’ll look ahead to the year of our Lord, 2026.
Hello, my name is Francis Douglas, and we are now in the 2,026th year of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 2026 refers to the Christian calendar: through the birth of Christ, and the start of the Christian era. Individual years were referred to as “the year of our Lord”, especially in Legal documents, going back to the founding of the United States of America … and, even, before.
For this first broadcast of the year, I thought I would give a synopsis of what’s coming up for the rest of 2026.

First, I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep up the pace of one episode per week, as I did throughout 2025. So, officially, I’m going to go with two posts per month, on the second and fourth Wednesdays.
Second, all of my episodes and posts for last year was in preparation for the Semiquincentennial America 250 celebration, which we have now arrived at. Therefore, the first part of this project, which is now complete for 2026, was for the history of the bible in the United States of America.

The second part of this project, which will be posted throughout 2026, will be for the history of the bible leading up to the founding of the United States of America.
All of the episodes and posts will be supplemented with their associated pieces in my Celebrate the Bible collection.

However, there are still pieces in the collection that have to do with the history of the Bible in America, so I will sprinkle those in throughout the year.
I want to thank all those who have visited throughout 2025, and I hope you continue to tune in and visit the web site throughout 2026.
My collection sources materials that show unique and significant achievements in Christian-based graphic arts, science, and communication technologies. Its goal is to help educate the public concerning the history and preservation of the Holy Bible: past, present, and future.

Topics that I plan to cover in 2026 and beyond will be (in no particular order):
- Clay tablets
- Papyri
- Scrolls
- Manuscripts
- Early printing
- Rare historic Bible leaves
- Etchings, engravings, woodcuts
- 19 c. stereoviews
- 19 c. microscopic scripture
- 3-D View-Master and lenticulars
- 3-D Laser holograms
- Laser communication technologies
- General ephemera
So, if I am able to post more than twice per month, I will most certainly do so. Some of the other items, in comparison to what was built out in 2025, will require more time and prep, so I do want to allow for that.

In any case, I’m glad you’re here with me once again, and I look forward to a wonderful year in 2026, Lord willing, bringing you more history of the Christian Holy Bible.
So, this is Francis Douglas, and you’re listening to Celebrate the Bible.
